CHECK THE WEBSITE CALENDAR BEFORE USING THE RANGES. SOME RANGES ARE CLOSED WHEN CERTAIN LEAGUES ARE USING THEM IE. COWBOY ACTION (4TH SUNDAY). OTHER SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES OR MAINTENANCE WILL BE POSTED ON THE CALENDAR AHEAD OF SCHEDULED DATE.
Lower Range Closed
The lower range will be closed March 11- 15 for training purposes.
The upper range will remain open for all members.
Must have a current membership to utilize the facilities.
Membership cards must be on your person and if requested be shown to anyone asking. Please sign in (upper covered range) including your member number. Valid targets only, no exploding targets, cans bottles or other non targets. Bring materials to mount the targets on the backing (covered range) or wire (lower range). Take your residue with you or put in the covered trash cans.
Ranges are configured as follows:
Upper range: 100 yard covered firing points with seven benches. Target frames set at 25, 50 and 100 yards. Come try out our new 200 yard range!
Lower range: 100 yard open range with two benches. Designed as a combat pistol range with 7, 15, 25, and 50 yard firing points and two benches at 100 yards.
– Range Rules –
- Ranges are for club members and escorted guests only. Guests are allowed one visit then after that they must join the club. Memberships are available at the clubhouse, on our website, and at the Sackets Harbor Country Mart. Be prepared to show membership card at any time.
- Range hours are as follows: Weekdays 8am – dusk, weekends 9am – dusk.
- Shooters MUST wear eye and ear protection at all times.
- Never allow the muzzle to point in any direction whereby accidental discharge would allow a projectile to leave the property. Absolutely no shooting over the berm.
- When more than one member is using the range, those present must appoint a “range officer” to control commence fire and cease fire.
- Shoot at PAPER TARGETS ONLY on the target frames provided. No ground shooting or ground targets. All targets must be backed by a berm.
Do not shoot across the range, shoot down your lane to your target. - No shooting less than 25 yards on the upper range. Please use the lower range for close targets.
- All shooting must be done from the firing line. Maintain a safe and reasonable rate of fire. Load no more than five (5) rounds at a time.
- No shotguns on the upper range. Shotguns with slugs may use the lower range and a shotgun patterning board is available to the right of the trap fields.
- DO NOT throw spent/unwanted brass in the garbage. Dispose of them in the containers available. Please take dud rounds home and dispose of properly.
- When you are done shooting please clean up after yourself. Pick up brass, throw away garbage, and remove targets from the frames and put them in the garbage as well.
- 50 CALIBER BMG WEAPONS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY RANGE.
- Consumption of alcohol or drugs while using the range will get your membership revoked.
– CLUBHOUSE RULES –
- No loaded guns in the clubhouse at any time.
- No pointing or aiming firearms in the clubhouse.
- Always respect other people’s property.
- Do not handle someone else’s firearm without permission.
- No smoking in the building.
- No consumption of alcohol until shooting is completed.
